DAYTIME COMET:
Jan. 14th, 2007 03:19 pmComet McNaught is now visible in broad daylight! Weather permitting of course. And for just a few more days.
The trick is: around local noon, go outside and stand in the shadow of a building. Face south. The comet lies 5 degrees to the left of the sun. (Five degrees is the width of your fist held at arm's length.) You may not see anything at first, but don't give up.
It's also within the view of the SOHO images. (satellite directed at the Sun) http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/c3/512/
