akrissyWe just arrived in Asheville NC for our weekend w/Mom.
As we are driving the long way home from dinner, (down the river road, through a tunnel, meandering past the parks and avoiding the malls), we drive through the middle of the 'city'. At the very center, in the little sitting park, there is a drum circle ! Awesome sounds of jimbes and other drums echoing off the buildings. A small group of college looking folks drumming away. With a small crowd of people just hanging around enjoying. Especially the very young kids. It is amazing to watch children who almost instinctually know that the sound of the drumming is a sign to move and be free of the cares of the world.
This is a good start to the weekend.
